【What is a “Tomesode” (留袖)?】
Tomesode is the most formal, elegant, and prestigious class of kimono traditionally worn by married women in Japan for official ceremonies and celebrations.

◆ Artful Design & Formality
The gorgeous, intricate patterns are dyed exclusively below the waistline, featuring elegant traditional motifs such as flying cranes, auspicious pine trees, or seasonal flowers.
It also typically features elegant family crests (called “Kamon”) on the back and sleeves, representing the highest level of formality.

◆ Two Beautiful Varieties
・Kurotomesode (Black Base): The most formal and majestic style, traditionally worn by the mothers of the bride or groom at Japanese weddings.
